    Gut Health

Has anyone got a protocol for gut health?

probiotics can be confusing. How do you know which suits you? Is it trial and error?

Do you need to reset your system then maintain it?

Fasting works really well for me. And pre first meal some ACV and lemon. Then Digestive enzymes every meal and 50 billion probiotic pre bed.
I used gutright to clean my gut before i started this... not sure whether it did much though. Plus I avoid gluten and dairy

Any probiotics that don’t have to be refrigerated are a waste of time a specialist told me

Dr. Rhonda Patrick is the go to on this shit bro. She is on the JRE podcast sometimes but has her own. From what little study I've done your gut bacteria will change over time as you eat lots of vegetables and probiotic foods. I make kumbucha tea and swap it with a mate for homemade sourkrout. I'm looking at making my first batch of kimchi soon too (usually buy it at the moment) I try to fit in things like those, natural yoghurt, gingerbug etc a few times a day. Sugar and alcohol are some of the worst things for your gut from what I understand. But rather than strong pro biotics or killing your gut bacteria off etc like a lot of naturopath recommend, it's seems to me from what I've read that just eating fermented foods and tweaking your diet for gut health is the way to go. Over time (and it doesn't take long because of the lifespan of the organisms in the microbiome) the good bacteria outbreed the bad.
if you look up Dr. Rhonda check out her shit on sulpheriphane from broccoli and all cause mortality reduction with saunas. I love this shit. I'm just regurgitating stuff though. I like looking her stuff up on the JRE though because Joe puts it in layman's terms for my dumb ass.

On a serious note ,gut health is very important If its unhealthy can cause ,bloating gas, fatigue, most of the bodys serotonin is produced in the gut not in the brain ,so can cause havoc with sleep an moods, best to go to a doctor an find out the best probiotic for you.

When you start noticing that you are having digestive system issues, such as intolerance to certain foods that you use to be fine with, that would be a good indication of taking a good probiotic. Also if you have recently taken any antibiotics or even 1-2 times a year is good to get a course of them into you.

Which probiotic should you use? You will need to find one with multiple strains of good bacteria... Most OTC stuff only has anywhere from 2-4 different strains but if you look around in some decent health food shops or online, you should be able to find something with 8+ different strains of bacteria (I can;t remember the last one I used but I think it had 10-12 strains and it fixed my intolerance to yeast cause by a heavy antibiotic course due to a cut that became infected).

The first line of action would be to switch the food source. Continually rotating protein, carb and fat sources stops food intolerances tremendously. Pairing this with prebiotic foods and some intermittent fasting should be priority before looking at probiotics.

i had great success over the last few months switching protein sources..

not talking up my diet its not particularly structured but im eating a broader range of meats and stopped having eggs every day, not having the same carb source for more than 2 days in a row..

used to have terrible issues with alergic response, flem etc directly after meals, after taking a break and starting this surplus with more “switching” i havent had an issue since
